The City Council of Vera, through the Department of Festivities, has announced the publication of the contest rules to select the poster announcing the Holy Week of Vera 2026, one of the most important religious and cultural celebrations of the municipality.
This contest is open to all interested persons, without age limit, whether professional or amateur artists. Each participant will be able to present up to three original and unpublished works, that reflect the tradition, identity and essence of the veratense Holy Week: its imagery, its steps, its brotherhoods and the most representative moments of this celebration.
The works must be presented in physical format, in size 70 x 50 cm vertically and using pictorial technique (oil, acrylic, mixed technique…). Digital works and photographs will not be accepted.
The deadline for submission will be open from the day following the official publication on the Town Hall Notice Board and will end on December 19, 2025 at 2:00 pm. The works may be sent by certified mail or delivered to the General Register of the City Council of Vera (appointment required).
The contest will award a first prize of 500 €, plus two additional awards for finalists. The works will be judged by a jury composed of municipal representatives, specialized technicians, members of the brotherhoods and fraternities of Vera, as well as professionals in the artistic field.
The winning entry will become the official poster for Vera Holy Week 2026 and will be presented publicly on Saturday, January 31, 2026.
