Stewardship of San Antón - CAPTIVE CHRIST and THE MOST HOLY VIRGIN OF PURITY
It was on the twenty-fifth of July of 2016, Solemnity of Santiago Apostle, that the Stewardship of San Antón – Captive Christ and the most Holy Virgin of Purity, saw the light of day in the Parish Church of the Incarnation of Vera, where the oldest members of the Gypsy Community of Vera, accompanied by their Parish Priest and Consiliary of the newly created Stewardship, Don Carlos María Fortes García, delivered to Don José María Sánchez García the Statutes of this Stewardship, with canonical headquarters in the Hermitage of San Antón in the city of Vera, for its presentation to the Bishop of Almería, on that date, Don Adolfo González Montes.
LHE STEWARDSHIP OF SAINT ANTON – CAPTIVE CHRIST AND THE MOST HOLY VIRGIN OF PURITY is the first Stewardship or Brotherhood of the Province of Almeria, created by gypsies, with the illusion and the Faith of the Veratense Gypsy Community, formed by more than three thousand people.

During its Station of Penitence, this Mayordomía has professional Saeteros, or along its route, faithful devotees, start singing Saetas to the Captive and the Virgin.
Saetas singing points:
- At the exit (Ermita de San Antón).
- Along the routeConfluence of Calle Reconquista and Calle del Mar, from the Restaurant Terraza Carmona; Plaza Mayor and Calle Mayor.
- A must is the Encierro of this Mayordomía, in the Hermitage of San Antón, because it is worth mentioning that the gypsies, are torn by dances, songs and clapping in the heat of the Cristo Cautivo and María Santísima de La Pureza, within the fervor and respect, and the purest gypsy feeling.
