Vera starts its Easter Week 2025 with an emotional proclamation by Ginés Ramón Soler Caparrós

The Holy Week of Vera has begun of official way this Saturday 5 of April with a solemn and emotive proclamation pronounced by Ginés Ramón Soler Caparrós, member of the Meeting of Government of the Brotherhood of the Stma. Virgen de las Angustias, Patroness of Vera.

The ceremony, celebrated in the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación after the mass officiated by the parish priest Jesús Martín, brought together civil authorities, representatives of the brotherhoods and confraternities of Veratense and numerous neighbors, marking the beginning of one of the most deeply rooted and heartfelt traditions of the municipality.

Soler Caparrós, very linked from young to the Veratense Holy Week, offered a proclamation loaded with feeling, tradition and personal reflection. With a deep knowledge of the local brotherhoods, he paid tribute to the titular images, evoking experiences that touched the audience and highlighting the essential role of costaleros, penitents, musicians and brothers.

“Vera’s Holy Week is the living expression of the faith of a people who, year after year, devote themselves with devotion to relive the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Christ,” the town crier expressed with emotion. In his speech, he also affirmed that faith “is not only a tradition handed down from generation to generation, but a deep commitment that gives meaning to our lives.”

The presentation was made by the previous town crier, Felix Mariano Lopez Caparros, who stressed the dedication and dedication of Soler Caparros to the Holy Week, highlighting his humility, his Christian commitment and his deep love for the Virgen de las Angustias.

During the ceremony, the Municipal Band of Music of Vera played several processional marches, interspersed with the emotional words of the pregonero, contributing to enhance the solemnity of the moment.

The act was closed by the mayor of Vera, Alfonso García Ramos, who thanked the words of the pregonero and extolled the historical, artistic and spiritual value of the Holy Week veratense. He also reiterated the institutional support of the City Council to continue promoting and preserving this celebration, for which it will apply to be declared of Andalusian Tourist Interest.

With this proclamation, Vera prepares to live with intensity and devotion a new Holy Week, a celebration that continues being the reflection of the spiritual, cultural and collective identity of an entire town. A living tradition that beats in every brotherhood, in every step, in every prayer.
